2004 GRADUATES
THE LAST FROM OLD SCHOOL HOUSE

The June 2004 graduating class was the last of a long line of proud Beecher High grads.  The School Board announced that the Beecher Senior High School closed the doors to the old school house and moved the Senior high school classes to Dolan school on Neff Rd.  The cost of operating the old school was too expensive.
The future use of the old buildings has not been determined.

This Beecher High classmate of 1962 was a regular at the dances held at the Mt.Morris skating rink.  She was just one of the teenagers that danced to Rock and Roll tunes for Detroit Bandstand. The dances were held on Saturday nights. The DJ was Dale Young and was shown on Detroit Station WXYZ Channel 7, Detroit.

Joy writes:  The picture of me with Dale Young from Detroit Bandstand was taken December of 1958.  I was 14 years old.  The DJ at Mt. Morris skating rink was Phil (I can not remember his last name).  I was his babysitter and this was his Christmas gift to me, to attend the Christmas dance and get to meet Dale Young and dance with him.
For those Upper Classmates of the Fifties there is also a luncheon the third Friday of each month, at 11:00 a.m., The Classmates meet at the Liberty Family Diner, south side of Pierson Road just west of I75.
Alumni of the 50's enjoy the friendships of our school days at Heecher High.
Upperclass Mates of the Fifties   ATTENTION!!!
FOURTH ANNUAL BUCCANEER POT LUCK PICNIC
A BIG SUCCESS!!!
The Fourth Annual Beecher Bucs Pot Luck Picnic was such a success we just had to make plans for it to happen again in 2017.
Nancy Wilkenson '62 and Sandy Hill'62 once again planned a great gathering of our old Classmates from the Beecher Classes of the Fifties and Sixties.

The weather was Great this year.  Sun shine and in the seventies.  There was a GREAT attendace of Class Mates from many years.  A special Alum that Graduated in 1944 was present.

2017's Buc Pot Luck Picnic will again be held at Flushing Park. We know where that is so no use in changing and getting everyone confused.  We will be setting up in Pavilion #1 which is easier for our Upper Classmates(and Me!)to access the GOOD Food and Friends.
In hopes of a little warmer weather this year the date will be Sunday Sept.11, 2016. (the weekend AFTER Labor Day).  The time will again be Noon to Four.  Please bring a delicious dish to pass and your beverages.  We will provide plates and eating tools.

We will be there Rain, Shine or Snow.

The 5:00PM sign-in and social hour was spent greeting("you look fimilar,BUT???")those old High
School friends("OMYGOSH!!No,You're Not!!!")(and of course, "You Haven't Changed a Bit")from so long ago.
Dinner was served at 6:30 followed by a photo  presentation of some of the School Buildings, Area Businesses and major events that occured during their Freshman to Senior Years. The photos brought back many memories to all.  The Reunion Committee Honored the Classmates that are no longer with us with a photo show of the classmates.  ALl Classmates that had servered in the Military were asked to stand and introduce themselves and the Branch of the Service they were in.
The night seemed to fly by in a blur.
Our CONGRATULATIONS to the '65 Buc Reunion Committee for a well planned evening.
